Info on Yesterday’s Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho Signings

February 28, 2010 | Posted by Chris Lansdell

Here’s a report on the Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho signings in Texas yesterday, courtesy of Kyle Davis and PWInsider:

I went to the Shawn Michaels autograph signing in Fort Worth and it was in this huge outdoorsman-type store. There were guns, tents, boats, ect… the table was set up in a room in the far back full of deer hears and whatnot. We showed up at about 11:35 with about 100 people already in line. 12:20 rolled around when Shawn and Rebecca finally arrived and things got underway quickly. I only found out about this signing about 30 hours ahead of time so I had no 8x10s or anything I’d want to get. I decided to steal an idea from TNA’s website and have him sign a brand new authentic baseball since I am a huge fan of the sport anyway. He wasn’t rude with anyone but seemed to be going through the motions but was pretty cool to the kids and Rebecca offered to take the pictures of people who asked.

On a funny side note, one of the young local indy wrestlers was there ahead of us in line, once we got to the table we saw he had actually given HBK an autographed picture of himself, along with a demo DVD, I couldn’t believe what I had just saw!)

So we head back to my place in Arlington around 2:30 and I grab my Chris Jericho book so we can jet to Tyler and make his signing at Best Buy at 5pm. We grab some quick foot and speed all the way to Tyler and get to the Best Buy at 5:15. I had been trying to get this book signed since the day I bought it, as Jericho is one of my all-time favorites. We pull up and I see him standing outside talking to Sign Guy. Fearing I had gotten there too late, I asked if he could sign my book. He said to go on inside, as it hadn’t started yet. The key was you had to purchase a Fozzy CD and you could get one additional item signed as well. The CD is actually pretty good, I recommend it.

I grab the CD and the receipt and head to the line, fearing there may be 300 people or so already standing. At 5:20, (he hadn’t started signing yet), there were only maybe 40 people in line, which was shocking but he actually took the time to graciously take pictures and chat with those who went through the line. Once I got there I sat down the CD cover and the book and he asked my name for the personalization. I told him how much I enjoyed the book, especially when he met Christopher Lloyd in Japan and totally got dissed. He said the second book would be even better but when I asked about the title he said I’d have to buy it and find out. I was going to get a picture but I was so happy about meeting my wrestling hero I didn’t even care.
