Worst Wrestler Turn
Some turns are great surprises, and reinvent a wrestler’s career. Others are titanic disasters, killing a performer’s heat and doing nothing to promote a successful angle. Which of these clunkers was the worst?
Winner: Goldberg Turns Heel (WCW)
What else can be said that hasn’t already? Turning Goldberg was a gigantic mistake, and was obviously a last minute plan to cover up an aborted “big surprise” promised by WCW at the Great American Bash. Goldberg never got into it, the booking team didn’t promote it properly and the fans didn’t buy it. Like Sting before him, Goldberg was a face again within weeks.
Runner Up: Godfather Goes Right to Censor (WWF)
Best Catchphrase
Wrestlers often use a regular saying or motto to provoke their opponent, or elicit a response from the crowd. Which of these current catchphrases was the best in 2000?
Winner: Choke on that, slapnutz (Jeff Jarrett)
Jeff Jarrett came a long way in 2000, from mid carder to top tier star and multiple time World champ. Combining great in ring skill with much improved mic work, many credit his catchphrase with putting him over the top into superstardom.
Runner Up: It’s true, it’s true (Kurt Angle)
Biggest Backstage Baby
This category is all about whining. Which one of these wrestlers complains the most about booking, titles, angles and more. It’s no surprise that all the nominees are WCW.
Winner: Buff Bagwell
Unlike the other nominees, Buff has never drawn a dime in wrestling, and probably never will. But for some reason, he has a giant ego and believes he is a top star despite never even holding a singles title.
Runner Up: Goldberg
Hottest Wrestling Babe
Pretty much self explanatory, but if you need help, we have all the Cliff Notes you’ll need for this category in 411puppies!
Winner: Lita (WWF)
After debuting with Esse Rios, Lita’s career has sky rocketed. With her trademarked red hair and slipping pants, Lita has a unique look for wrestling and a flair for the in ring dramatic that makes her stand apart.
Runner Up: Torrie Wilson (WCW)
