
At his peak, there was probably never a man as popular in wrestling history as Hulk Hogan. And Vince McMahon always seemed to have a super villain ready and willing to try to destroy Hulkamania as we knew it.
Probably the ultimate bad guy that Vince McMahon could use was the mammoth Andre the Giant. Andre was nearing the end of his legendary career by the time Wrestlemania 3 rolled around, but his sheer size and reputation more than made up for his deteorating health and mobility.
After months of buildup, something which isn't seen in the modern age, Hogan and Andre finally locked up for the first time in the main event of Wrestlemania 3, which reportedly drew "93,000" fans to the Pontiac Superdome.
The heat for the match was electric, even if the in ring actual was on the weaker side. There was barely a fan in the world who wanted Andre to win. Hogan didn't disappoint and he was at his charismatic best, finally bodyslamming the Giant en route to a big victory. If there was ever a peak to Hulkamania, it was the celebration following his conquest of the 8th wonder of the world.
