The 8-Ball 05.24.12: Top 8 One-Word Catchphrases
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the 8-Ball. As always, I am your party host, Ryan Byers.
This week, we’re going to talk about brevity in speech. Oftentimes, individuals who use big words or who use a lot of words are stereotyped as being more intelligent. However, in many regards, it is more challenging to get your thoughts out as efficiently and as in as few words as possible.
In fact, conveying messages briefly and effectively can be a form of art, as demonstrated by haiku or well-crafted tweets.
(Or, of course, sometimes brevity is born out of necessity, like when an individual has a particularly pressing deadline coming up and is struggling to meet it due to other commitments . . . but I wouldn’t know anything about that.)
So, this week, we pay tribute to those individuals in wrestling who were masters of efficient communication as we count down the . . .
