Offensive H
By Tony Acero

Triple H’s most recent promo has upset a few people in our little world we know as the IWC. I often consider moments like the promo Triple H cut this past Monday as a moment where someone is quick to jump the gun about people getting upset – I’ve talked about this before – and thereby defends said person in question. Interestingly enough, hardly was there a person to defend Triple H’s honor, instead opting to point out that what he said was pretty fucked up. Where then do I stand? I have two specific angles to look at the promo, and although they may seem contradictory, I feel they work hand in hand to be honest.

First, let’s look at the recipients of such barbs. Both Edge and Chris Jericho went to Twitter quickly to tell everyone to calm their tits and not poke the fire. They tried to kill the heat before any rose up, but if you guys didn’t notice Jericho’s first little jab, then we simply don’t know Jericho. My personal opinion is that even though this was an interesting choice of Triple H to mention these guys as in the same boat as Bryan (ie: Not top of the card material), it wasn’t really all that necessary. I think what upsets most people is how often Triple H seems to just put people down in promos. Now please understand, I feel that it really, really wasn’t a big deal, but it still makes it no less interesting that of the names mentioned, neither work for the company – and each could argue about their own successes as well as where they wanted to be on the card…

My second argument is the simple fact that the pot was calling the kettle black as all hell this past Monday, and while that may be a perfect stance to debunk Triple H of all credibility and require him to be readily available for ridicule, perhaps there’s something to that? Whether the E likes it or not, they know we exist and they know what we know. It would make sense to me that Triple H knows exactly what we think about him, and having his heelish COO persona call out Bryan – and others – for not being able to cut it only shines a light on the fact that neither could he, thereby making him all the more of an asshole than anything else. Oh, Triple H, you sly fella.

So yes, maybe it was a bit uncalled for – and calling it a bit is stressing it since it really didn’t matter all that much – but the facts are that it was the perfect thing a heel could have done in throwing his own flaw on the enemy, the dude we are supposed to care about. So, if we doubt that Bryan may win this Sunday, we just want him to so he could shut that B+ player in a suit Triple H the fuck up? Am I right? Do we not wanna see Triple H lose his shit when Bryan wins the title? I think we do, and although this story has been playing out for quite a bit, it’s also what we’ve asked for, I feel.

You Decide: Did Triple H cross the line?

Abeyance Fails to Defend WWE Championship for 30 Days; Stripped of Title
In an embarrassing state of events in WWE, Abeyance’s much-anticipated run at the top of the wrestling food chain has been cut short after only thirty days on account of not defending the WWE Championship in that time. However, just by making it that long, Abeyance has the fifth longest reign with the title in the past fourteen reigns.

Fans are enraged by the start-stop nature of Abeyance’s presence in WWE. While not holding any secondary titles, he has been a biiig part of the WWE undercard for the past several years. “People say I wasn’t pushing anyone in the midcard throughout the years, but really, Abeyance was all over it,” Vince McMahon said when asked for comment by the 1yun.

The WWE Universe is actually in favor of another champion as well, so they don’t even mind that WWE has completely removed Abeyance from the title picture, as they are snubbing him from this Sunday’s Hell in a Cell match for the championship. Triple H has been cited on several occasions as the man behind the stalled push of Abeyance, saying that he should never be the face of the company. “It’s what’s best for business.”
