World Wrestling News Report: 11.08.13

November 8, 2013 | Posted by Aaron Frame

It is another Friday and another edition of the World Wrestling News Report. My name is Aaron Frame and I will be taking you through the news from AROUND THE WORLD today. I am really trying to get this column to be a good one. I am going to try to even out the focus here. I want to focus only a little bit on WWE and TNA while Japan gets some love too. I am still trying to find a good source for Mexico. As far as shows in Japan, I still have very limited information about shows. I’m doing my best to get as much info as possible, so again, stick with me as I continue working towards this being an awesome column.

WWE

Raw

I caught the 90 minute version of Raw from Hulu this week, so I missed a good portion of it. What I did see, I liked. Punk/Bryan vs. The Wyatts looks to be a pretty solid pairing. I cannot wait to see what they can do with each other. Imagine what could happen after Punk and Bryan beat the Wyatts, too. We could get a Punk/Bryan feud. They have had matches in the past, but imagine what they could do in a full blown feud culminating in a best of series or an iron man match.

Big E. Langston got his time to shine. I cannot imagine that the WWE app voting is not rigged in some way, but if those votes were legit, I think it is high time for WWE to start looking in to what they can do with Langston. The match between the two, while not five-star caliber, was actually pretty decent. I would not mind watching Orton and Langston feud over the title. I know a lot of people think Orton is boring, and I agree most of the time, but that little promo he did before the match was straight out of Heel 101. I thought he delivered it well.

I am finding it harder and harder to hate Cena.

That Cody Rhodes/Goldust theme mash-up just does not work for me. It sounds too weird. Wow, there are too many people on commentary for this match. There are six solid wrestlers in the ring and the chaotic commentary just takes away from it. Though, I will say this: I think Zeb Culter needs to be put on commentary more often. I enjoyed listening to Dutch Mantell on commentary during his SMW days and he seems like he has not missed a beat. This match was solid, but nothing special. I actually think there could have been a little more to it considering who was in it.

Eva Marie got her first win in the WWE. Eh.

This Big Show/HHH/Stephanie thing is just one huge clusterfuck. Excuse my language, but it is not going all too well in my eyes. It is giving me one hell of a headache watching it all. It ended with Show in a handicap match and…well, corporate Kane. Yeah.

Non-Television WWE News

Hogan might be making a comeback to the WWE. I do not think anybody even cares anymore. Sure, I would like to see him in some capacity at WM30, but I do not know if I want to see him wrestling. That is unless they can get Warrior to agree to one last rematch. I would just want to see that train wreck.

For any other non-television news for WWE, read the news posts or another news column. I should not spend too much time on stuff like that. Moving on.

TNA

I will skip the iMPACT review here because I think that talking in some regard about the rumors of a TNA sale, whether it will or will not happen, is something I want to do.

There was a memo from Janice Carter stating that she is excited for the future of the company and cannot wait to see what will happen with the direction they are taking TNA. Hell, I am excited to see what direction they are taking TNA. But this does not mean they have not been fielding offers to see what they can get for it. What they may be doing, I think, is looking at what they could possibly get right now for the company and are trying to raise its stock to sell later. Maybe they realize they would not get what they want for it, so they are going to try to improve the company as much as possible to get as much for it as possible. Of course, I could be completely wrong and they think the company can thrive under their care. Personally, I think TNA needs to be sold to someone else who actually knows what to do with a wrestling company. Billy Corgan was thought to be interested, but would he really be what TNA needs? Sure, he saw some success with the Pumpkins, but he is a singer. Not a very good one at that, in my opinion. I have heard that TNA was attempting to get Heyman to work with them, but he was asking for too much money. If I were looking to dump the promotion for as much as possible, I would look to someone like Ted Turner. It all just comes down to who is interested and whether they realize how much the company is really worth. Maybe we will see more from this story develop in the next week.

INTERMISSION

For anyone who is interested, I found a full collection of Smoky Mountain Wrestling on YouTube. Here is episode one.

Japan

So, not a lot going on in Japan at the moment. I have been trying to get either footage or detailed show results, but so far things are not that easy. Between life not giving me a whole lot of time to work on it and it just being a pain in the ass to find an English site with that information, I am trying vigilantly to get as much information as I can and I hope that next week I will have something going.

K-DOJO

Only one show ran last week and it was from Kaientai Dojo. The gate was reported to be 399 which is apparently a sellout at the selected venue.

Ricky Fuji and Ryuichi Sekine defeated kaji Tomato and Marines Mask 3
Bambi and Hikaru Sato defeated Kengo Mashimo and Yuuma
Minoru Suzuki defeated Hiro Tonai
Best 2 out of 3: IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions TAKA Michinoku and Taichi defeated Jado and Gedo to retain the titles.

Oh, before I forget. Here is the picture of the new Triple Crown belt courtesy of commenter Talleyente.

Mexico

Oh look! Mexico has a section now! Guess what?! I have nothing for it! Well, that is not entirely true. I do have information for Mexico, but there is so much to go through and I really did not have time this week to get it all done. But! I promise that next week you lucha fans will have at least SOMETHING here for you to read.

A final note for this, I had no idea just how much wrestling happens down in Mexico. Crazy.

END

Not too proud of this column. I just did not have a lot of time this week to get it to where I want it. I think I have to try to dedicate at least an hour a day to the column so that I can get as much information as I can in to it. Hopefully, next week there is a lot of news to report on because I feel I need to make up for this one. Well, until next week keep on being fans of wrestling and never stop believing.
