The Fink’s Payload 01.16.08: The Return

January 16, 2008 | Posted by Daniel Wilcox

After a brief hiatus, due to popular demand, the Fink’s Payload is back!

For those who are not in the know when it comes to the Payload, it is the only column on 411Mania (and probably the internet) that relies solely on reader interaction as we invite readers to send along their fantasy booking ideas on a chosen subject each week.

The Payload is hosted by myself, Daniel Wilcox, and my esteemed coleague Jordan Linkous who you should all know as the author of Why I Love/Hate Wrestling. Each week we’ll have the oppurtunity to critique your entries, be it negatively or positively as well as offering our own ideas in the process.

What with this being the first column back, we don’t actually have any entries to print. I know, embarassing, right? So we’re just going to set the homework. Before I reveal exactly what this week’s homework is, I need to point out a few things;

– Send all entries to [email protected], not any old email adresses you may have for the Payload. The aforementioned address is the one linked at the bottom of the this page so it shouldn’t be too hard to get that one right. Any entries send to any other address probably will not be found and thus won’t make the column.

– As you can clearly see, the Payload is now running on a Wednesday as opposed to Monday, but Jordan and myself still aim to put the column together at the weekend. With that in mind, please send any entries to us by Saturday at midnight at the very latest.

– We do not want essays. If we recieve an entry that’s literally pages and pages long, there’s a good chance we won’t read it and it won’t be included. By all means go into detail, but be reasonable. 1,500 words is a rough maximum.

– Your entry will not necessarily make the column. This will be no reflection on your entry as a random sample will be chosen if there are more entries than we need. We’ll usually include about 4-8 entries depending on how many we get and their length.

– All entries and ideas are appreciated!

With that said, here is the first homework of the new Payload Era;

The Royal Rumble takes place in less than two weeks time. Book the outcome of the Royal Rumble match.

From myself and Jordan (who is here in spirit for this one), thank you for reading and participating in the legend that is The Fink’s Payload and we hope to hear your ideas soon!

PS – Entries will not be accepted through the comments section!
