Edge’s WWE Contract is About to Expire

April 19, 2012 | Posted by Larry Csonka

– According to Pwinsider.com, several sources have stated that WWE Hall of Famer Edge’s contract with the company is set to expire on May 1st. This would leave him free to go anywhere he would like.

Edge’s in ring career is over, but considering that he was the centerpiece of their 2012 Hall of Fame ceremony just last month, and that WWE keeps other non-wrestling members under a contract (like Shawn Michaels), many felt that Edge could have filled a similar role, especially in Canada.

Edge has been under contract to WWE since 1997. At this time, Edge is currently set for another season of SyFy’s series Haven. His WWE Films project, Bending the Rules was recently released on DVD, and the WrestleMania 28 DVD, with his Hall of Fame appearance, will be released one week after his contract expires.

The feeling is that TNA would be interested in him, especially since he has a close friendship with Hulk Hogan.

During his time with WWE, Edge won the WWE, World, IC, US and Tag Team Titles. He also won the King of the Ring, the Royal Rumble and the first Money in the Bank.
