WWE MAIN EVENT 10.17.12 (Episode 3)
-Michael Cole and JBL are in the ring to kickoff the show. JBL says he is not Cole’s friend, but is still the longest reigning champion in Smackdown history. They discuss the IC Title match and show clips from Raw, and by that I mean clips of Miz getting knocked the FUCK out. Miz got six stitches from the kick, but he has been medically cleared to wrestle tonight.

-We get an inside look at Kofi Kingston, including old footage of Kofi’s Tough Enough audition tape.

-Backstage Josh Matthews is with Kofi. Kofi discusses the kick on Miz from Monday, and he says that Miz has been doing too much talking. Kofi says Miz wanted him to add memorable moments, and he did that and Miz will always remember him. We are seeing a new Kofi, and he likes it. Tonight, he will beat Miz and become the new IC Champion

-Back to Cole and JBL, and as JBL starts to talk about Kofi, Miz interrupts them. Miz runs down what happene0 don Raw, and says if anyone else took that kick, they would have been out for a long time. He is like Superman, and him being here proves that he is awesome. No one compares to him, and for the first time in years, the IC Title means something. And it is all because of him holding it. Understand, he is a future hall of famer, and is a WrestleMania headliner.

-We get a video package for Miz.

-Miz then says that if Kofi wants his title, then he can come and get it.

-Kofi makes his way to the ring.

IC Title Match: The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston
And here we go, as JBL and Cole put over the history of the IC Title. Lock up to begin, to the corner and Miz with a boot and headlock takedown. Kofi reverses and gets a hammerlock, but Miz gets the ropes. They break, and a takedown by the Miz. Kofi counters once again, works the hammerlock, escape by Miz and a shoulder block take down. JBL just called Kofi “Johnny Bananas.” Lock up, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Kofi. Another connects, and then hits a monkey flip. He clotheslines Miz to the floor, and then connects with the big flip dove. Kofi rolls Miz back in, connects with the slingshot clothesline for 2. headlock by Kofi, off the ropes and a back elbow by Miz. Miz works a modified camel clutch, Kofi gets to his feet and gets a roll up for 2, reversals now of pinning combos and then another roll up by Kofi for 2. Kofi goes for trouble in paradise, but Miz escapes to the floor…

~commercial time~

We are back from commercial as Kofi works over Miz with kicks in the corner. Kofi lays the boots to him, mounted corner punches now until Miz powerbombs him to stop that nonsense, and covers for 2. Knee lift by Miz follows, and another cover gets 2. Miz backs off, and then gets the corner clothesline. He heads up top now, and connects with the double axe handle, and covers for 2. Miz back to the modified camel clutch, Kofi works to his feet and Miz gets the backdrop suplex and a cover for 2. Miz grabs a headlock, Kofi works to escape, does and then counters a backdrop suplex and lams Miz to the mat. Goes for a splash, and Miz gets the knees up. Lefts by Miz, off the ropes and Kofi with the cross body and both men are down. Back to their feet, chops by Kofi connect. Dropkick follows, Kofi heads p top but the Miz tosses him down to the floor…

~commercial time~

We are back from commercial as Miz works a headlock on Kofi. During the commercial, Miz worked over Kofi. Miz now gets a knee to he gut, and then a kick to the face of Kofi. Miz talks some trash, hits another running boot to the face, and then covers for 2. Miz off the ropes, roll up by Kofi gets 2. Miz then misses his corner clothesline, and an atomic drop by Kofi. They trade rights, off the ropes now and Kofi dumps Miz to the floor. Kofi follows, dives over the steps as Miz tried to slam him into them and then comes back with a flying clothesline. Back in the ring and Kofi covers for 2. Miz then slams Kofi to the corner, but Kofi back with the boots to the face and heads up top. High cross body follows, but Miz rolls through and covers for 2. Miz fails at tossing Kofi to the floor, takes Miz down and connects with the boom drop. Kofi sets for trouble in paradise, Miz ducks, skull crushing finale countered and then Miz with a roll up and the tights for 2. Miz counters the SOS, but Kofi then counters and hits it for 2 as Miz gets the ropes. Miz rolls to the floor, and gets his title and tries to bail, but Kofi dives onto him. Kofi rolls Miz back in, boot by Miz and then the DDT connects for a close 2. Skull crushing finale countered, but Miz roll sup Kofi with the ropes, but the ref sees it. Miz argues with the ref, and that allows Kofi to nail trouble in paradise and that is all!

-Matt Striker is with Kofi after his win. Kofi is excited and says that he said it was his time. The challenge was tough, but he did it and is now the new IC Champion. He names Savage, Steamboat, HBK as former titleholders, and says this is not just about him, this is about the fans in the arena. This is about the WWE Universe. He says you can have fun and still win. He then does the “boom, boom, boom” as a message to Miz.

-Josh Matthews tries to interview Miz backstage. When asked about no longer being the IC Champion, Miz says it is like losing a vital organ. Kofi stole the title from him, and this is a bad dream, a nightmare. Kofi as IC Champion? He wants a rematch, to regain what is his.

-Vickie Guerrero comes out to announce Dolph Ziggler.

Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero vs. Zack Ryder
Lock up to begin, arm drag by Ryder, but Ziggler back with the elbow. Shoulder block off the ropes connects, counters by Ryder and then hits a flapjack. Ryder charges Ziggler, eats a boot and then Ziggler lays the boots to him. Ziggler with the elbow drop and covers for 2. Ziggler works a grounded headlock, Ryder to his feet, escapes and then eats a dropkick from Ziggler. Ryder manages to hit a short-armed clothesline, and both men are down. To their feet, back elbow by Ryder. Boots by Ryder, and a second rope missile dropkick also connects. Corner forearm by Ryder, and now set for the broski boot, which connects and Ryder covers for 2. Ryder sets, rough Ryder countered and Ziggler with the zigzag, and that is all.

-Vickie says everyone talked about the Miz vs. Kofi match, the person people should be talking about is Dolph Ziggler. She says at HIAC, he could cash in his MITB contract. Ziggler then says he deserves better than Ryder, because Ryder is a loser. Ziggler says he is the best thing going and the main event. He challenges anyone in the back for next week’s main event…

-FEED ME… FEED ME MORE… Ryback comes out on the ramp, and I think it is safe to assume he has accepted the challenge.
