411’s WWE Heat Report 07.29.07

July 29, 2007 | Posted by Daniel Wilcox

Good evening people, and I hope you’ve all had a good weekend. Slimmer isn’t here as you can tell this week so I’ll be filling. I think I’m becoming the unofficial 3rd Heat reporter, which is no bad thing because if Slimmer ain’t around you’d be stuck with Small. Speaking of which, you might think Slimmer no-showed last week as Small claimed in his inferior Heat report, but it was in fact I who no-showed. Shocking, I know, but I missed several commitments last week because of flooding in my area that took away power (and water!) for several days so there was nothing that could be done about it. So I apologize for leaving you all with Small to get your weekly fix of Heat, but let’s get to this week’s show.

Because wwe.com is playing up, this recap comes straight from Sky Sports 3 in the UK! That just means more clips from Raw to fill the hour.

Cue the usual Heat intro! Todd Grisham and Coach welcome us to Heat.

The Highlanders vs. Jason Styles and Ryan Van Cool (?)

Rory and jobber one lock up and tussle into the corner but Rory comes out with a couple of arm drags and controls the arm. Tag to Robbie who comes off with a top rope to the arm of the guy. He tags out but his partner runs into a clothesline. Rory in now and there’s the human battering ram. Tag to Robbie who slams his partner onto the jobber. European uppercut to Jason Styles, if that’s his real name. Tag to Rory and Robbie tosses Styles into two big boots. Rory connects with a back suplex but then misses an elbow and Styles tags out to Van Cool (?). They get double clotheslined and Robbie tags in now and takes out both men with clothesline. Tag to Rory who goes to the top rope. Frog splash off the top at that’s your lot.

Winners: The Highlanders

We get a King Booker vignette.

They show clips of Raw last week and the match between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Orton dominates the match and quickly stops a Cody comeback before finishing with it with an RKO. Post match Orton tries to kick Cody in the head, only for Dusty to make the save. Orton then attacks Rhodes and punts him in the head.

Mr. Kennedy tells us to stay safe and don’t try this as we head to commercial.

See, WWE in the UK is much better than in the States. We get cool commercials with the wrestlers telling us to stay safe! Plus awesome vignettes like the aforementioned King Booker one.

Back from commercial and the WWE Slam of the Week is Carlito getting beat down by Lashley.

Santino Marella vs. Super Crazy

So is Marella supposed to be a heel now? Well I hate him anyway so it’s all good. Grisham did a funny. They lock up and Marella gets a go behind on Crazy who counters out with an overhead wrist lock. Santino rolls out but Crazy grabs a leg and roles through catching Santino in a leg lock. Crazy releases and goes to a front facelock. Santino counters but gets sweeped and Crazy applies a chin lock. Small package by Marella gets 2. They stand off to applause. Elbow tie-up again and Crazy ducks a clothesline and gets a couple of deep arm drags. Crazy putting pressure on the arm and now goes to the top but gets dragged off by Santino only to counter in mid air and keep control of the arm. Irish whip by Santino gets caught into a hurricanrana into a pinfall for 2. Santino gets a clothesline for 2 and applies a chin lock. Side headlock takeover now by Santino keeping the headlock applied. They get their feet and Crazy gets caught with a jack-knife pin for 2. Crazy catches Marella with a sidewalk slam that gets a 2 count. Rights by Crazy. Snap suplex by Santino only gets 1. Big thrust kick by Super Crazy followed up by a spinning heel kick. Crazy gets a sunset flip for 2. He goes for another roll up but Santino sits on top for the win!

Winner: Santino Marella

We get the Triple H promo from Raw. He’s back at Summerslam.

Back to Heat and Grisham explains the rivalry between The World’s Greatest Tag Team and Paul London and Brian Kendrick. We see their match from Raw last week. Haas and Benjamin get the win following a German suplex with bridge.

We see a commercial for the WWE Divas who are, of course, beautiful as usual.

Commercial break.

Snitsky vs. Tony Jones

Boot by Snitsky, shot to the back. Nasty clothesline by Snitsky. Pumphandle slam and it’s over… oh no, Snitsky picks him up, He hits another one and that’s it.

Winner: Snitsky

We now see clips of Cena beating Lashley at The Great American Bash to the tune Church of Hot Addiction by Cobra Starship which is an awesome song by an awesome band.

Back to clips from Raw and we see the Match of Champions. Jeff Hardy runs out to take out Umaga allowing Cena to pin Cade following an FU. Randy Orton comes out to deliver an RKO to the champ and is then named number one contender by Coach.

Up next it’s Val Venis vs. Daivari

Jeff Hardy vignette, which kicks major ass.

Final commercial break.

Daivari vs. Val Venis

First, Daivari gets on the mic but Val interrupts. I’m missing High Stake Poker for this, I hope you are happy. Coach mentions something about Hannah Montana, who I’d so hit. They lock up and Val uses his size to get the better of Daivari. Drop toehold by Val who now works the arm. Daivari goes low but misses an elbow so Val works over that arm again. He drives knees into the arm now applying the pressure. Daivari wisely gets to the ropes though and cheap shots Val and fires off with right hands. Chop by Daivari. Knees to the gut now and a Russian leg sweep by Venis. Mounted punches by Venis. Daivari begs off but tosses Val into the turnbuckle. DDT for Daivari gets 2. Daivari sets Val on the rope and jumps on the back of his neck at full speed. Daivari gets a big neckbreaker for another 2 count. Daivari torques the neck of Val and he fights out with elbows but gets caught. Vall telegraphs Daivari and gets a spin out powerbomb for a 2 count. Daivari flapjacks Val onto the top rope and now stomps away. Back elbows by Venis and a double-underhook overhead suplex for 2. Half nelson slam connects for Val and he goes to the top rope but misses the Money Shot. Daivari stacks him up for 2 and can’t believe it. He slaps Val and whips him but eats an elbow. Val hops to the second rope but gets powerbombed off. Daivari stacks him up and gets his feet on the ropes for the 3!

Winner: Daivari

And that’s it for another edition of Heat. I’ll be back tomorrow with various columns/reports/news reports and Slimmer will be back next week.
