Dasher Hatfield says he isn’t worried about facing Hammermeier tonight. He believes the problem lies within the BDK members who interfere on his behalf. He says the BDK must be destroyed.

Dasher Hatfield vs. Jakob Hammermeier

Hatfield rips off Hammermeier’s fake mustache that he’s wearing to mock Dasher. Hatfield delivers a few chops. Hatfield smacks Hammermeier on the buttocks to block a backdrop. He sends Hammermeier out with a pair of armdrags. Hammermeier goes under the ring to hide, so Hatfield stomps the ring to startle him. It works, as Hammermeier emerges grabbing his head in pain. Hatfield baseball slides him into the guardrail. Back in the ring, Hatfield slingshots into an Oklahoma Roll for two. Hammermeier drop toe holds Hatfield into the corner and hits Das Boot for two. He chokes Hatfield with his necktie. Hatfield misses a crossbody. Hammermeier chokes him on the bottom rope. Hatfield goes for a submission, but Hammermeier runs him head first into the top turnbuckle for two. Hammermeier chokes Hatfield with his vest, so Hammermeier punches him in the face. He hits a wind up forearm smash and places Hammermeier on the top rope. Pinkie Sanchez runs out to distract the referee and to push Hammermeier off the top rope. Hammermeier hits a Rude Awakening for the pin at 6:12. Decent opening contest, really just to allow Hammermeier to add another tainted victory to his name. *1/2

Claudio Castagnoli and Ares come out to celebrate with Hammermeier and Sanchez. Ares speaks in German. Claudio begins to speak but then gets cut off by 3.0. Jagged says that the BDK has been on a losing streak lately, and that back when Ares and Claudio were Campeones de Parejas, they were the only ones who were able to score a pinfall on them. Feeling good about their victory over The UnStable last night, they challenge Ares and Claudio to a match. Claudio and Ares attack 3.0. on the floor and the match is on.

3.0. (Scott “Jagged” Parker & Shane Matthews) vs. Die Brüderschaft des Kreuzes (Claudio Castagnoli & Ares)

Ares and Claudio beat down Matthews as Jagged recovers on the floor. Claudio chokes Matthews and then drops him throat first on the top rope. Matthews dropkicks Ares and goes for a tag. Claudio knocks Jagged off the apron and gives Matthews a deadlift gutwrench suplex. Matthews knocks down Ares with a clothesline and tags in Jagged. He hits Ares with a leg lariat and a back elbow. Ares pops Jagged up, and Jagged dropkicks Claudio off the apron. Jagged flapjacks Ares for two. Matthews trips Ares and Jagged hops off Matthews’ back with an elbow drop. Claudio breaks the pin but gets booted to the floor by Jagged. He follows with a slingshot senton. Matthews knocks Ares down with a clothesline for two. Ares gives Matthews a chinbreaker. Claudio catches Jagged back in the ring with a pop-up European uppercut for two. Claudio then locks him in the Inverted CHIKARA Special. Matthews breaks the submission, even with Ares attempting to stop him. Ares catches Matthews with a Blue Thunder Bomb for two. Matthews blocks a Tiger Driver and rolls up Ares for two. Ares blocks a Magistral Cradle and pins Matthews at 8:01. They managed to put together a good match even if it lacked the raw emotion their tag title match did. A big punch was packed in a short time, and I always love seeing 3.0. getting time to shine. **3/4

Grizzly Redwood says even though Hieracon put up a little fight against Brodie Lee last night, he’s going to put Hieracon out for the one-two-tree (get it?)

Hieracon vs. Grizzly Redwood

Hieracon is again wearing an Amasis mask in his teammates honor. Redwood and Hieracon trade control with each others wrists. Hieracon goes under Redwood and snapmares him down. Hieracon tries a sunset flip and a crucifix pin, but only gets two. Redwood headbutts Hieracon and stomps him on the mat. Redwood snapmares him into a chinlock. Hieracon cartwheels out but gets forearmed in the back twice. Redwood snap suplexes him for two. Hieracon escapes a headlock with a jaw breaker, but gets elbowed back down for two. Hieracon whips Redwood to the corner and rolls him up for two. Redwood comes off the second rope with a double axe handle. Hieracon clotheslines Redwood in the stomach as Redwood comes off the top rope. Hieracon nails a second rope dropkick. A German suplex gets him two. Hieracon escapes a Razor’s Edge but gets immediately dropped with a brainbuster for the pin at 6:40. Hieracon loses to both members of the Roughnecks on back to back nights. This was rough around the edges, but the bulk of the match was serviceable. **

UltraMantis Black reminds us that Sinn Bodhi betrayed Mantis when he trained the Batiri for his own purposes, intead of training them to be Mantis’ henchmen as originally planned. Mantis promises to destroy Bodhi and The Batiri.

The Spectral Envoy (UltraMantis Black, Hallowicked & Frightmare) vs. The Dark Army (Sinn “Kizarny” Bodhi & The Batiri (Obariyon & Kodama))

Bodhi takes Hallowicked down, only for Hallowicked to retaliate with a hip toss. Bodhi bails to the floor when Mantis tags in. Kodama rolls Mantis around in a front facelock. Mantis ducks a leapfrog and hits a flurry of armdrags. Frightmare tags in and hits a double palm strike/enzuigiri combo on Kodama with Mantis. Obariyon aggressively attacks Frightmare from behind before tagging in Bodhi. Frightmare tags in Mantis whilst holding onto Bodhi. Bodhi however still manages to get out of dodge. Obariyon takes Mantis to the mat with a headlock. Mantis escapes and delivers a Mongolian chop in the corner. Mantis gets a two count with an alita. Mantis brings Bodhi inot the ring, but Kodama pounces and throws Bodhi out. Incoherence bring Bodhi back in, and Hallowicked pops Frightmare into a clothesline on Bodhi. Bodhi goes to the floor and Mantis follows. The Batiri attack Mantis to break him and Bodhi up further. The Batiri and Bodhi isolate Mantis in their corner, as Bodhi will get in the ring with Mantis when the advantage is in his favor. Mantis comes back with a neckbreaker to Bodhi. Frightmare tags in and comes in with a crossbody. He dropkicks Bodhi in the side of the head. He blocks a chokeslam with an enzuigiri. The Batiri attack Frightmare, but he fights them both off with double backflip kiks. Obariyon wheelbarrows him into a neckbreaker from Kodama. Hallowicked breaks the pin. He sends Obariyon to the corner and hits a step-up enzuigiri on both him and Kodama. He gives Kodama the Go Too Sleepy Hollow. Hallowicked boots Obariyon into a neck breaker from Frightmare. Mantis slams Bodhi thrice as the match breaks down. Hallowicked slams Obariyon on top of him and Mantis slams Kodama on top of him. Frightmare drops onto all three of them with a Kneecolepsy. Mantis and Bodhi go out with a Cactus Clothesline. Kodama evades a superplex from Hallowicked. Kodama hits a Flying Blockbuster for the pin at 12:13. This was an excellent trios match that built the tension between Mantis and Bodhi perfectly. Everyone hit their marks and played their roles perfectly. I’m really looking forward to another Bodhi/Mantis encounter after this. ***1/4

Angry, Mantis gives both Obariyon and Kodama a Praying Mantis Bomb. Bodhi gloats about being victorious in the aisleway, avoiding Mantis’ wrath.

Sugar Dunkerton vs. Archibald Peck

Dunkerton mocks Peck with some marching band manuevers. Peck puts on a headlock and tells Dunkerton to tap out. Dunkerton reverses using Peck’s sash. Dunkerton runs the ropes, stepping on Peck in the process. He then dribbles Peck’s head on the mat. Dunkerton puts his basketball in Peck’s arms. Peck, thinking its Dunkerton’s head, puts on a side headlock. Dunkerton turns him over so that the basketball pins Peck. Dunkerton picks up the basketball and runs it around the ring so that the fans can high five it. Peck gets upset. He throws a punch but Dunkerton blocks it with the basketball. Peck holds an invisible basketball and pretends to dribble it. Dunkerton then does some tricks with the invisible ball. Peck cackles after grabbing the ball out of his hands. He passes it to Dunkerton, then Dunkerton asks the fans to boo. Peck thinks they’re booing the referee. Dunkerton does more tricks before throwing the invisible ball angrily into Peck’s hand. Peck tries to pop the ball but can’t. Peck tries to stomp on it but slips instead. Peck successfully nips up and celebrates greatly. Dunkerton schoolyard trips him and mocks Peck’s previous celebration. Peck goes a schoolyard trip of his own, but Dunkerton notices and kicks Peck in the buttocks. Dunkerton punches Peck and sends him to the corner. Peck responds with a diving forearm. Peck rubs his forearm into Dunkerton’s neck. Peck drops him with a swinging neckbreaker for two. Peck delivers a second rope elbow to the neck for two. Peck hits a flipping neckbreaker for two. Dunkerton crotches Peck on the top rope. Dunkerton delivers a series of strikes. He hits Kiss My Converse and a succession of clotheslines in the corner. Dunkerton escapes a backslide and nails a lariat for two. Veronica distracts Dunkerton, allowing Peck to throw Dunkerton face first into the middle rope. He drops Dunkerton with the Drum Roll for two. Dunkerton comes back with some more strikes. He hits a delayed Falcon Arrow for two. Veronica hits Dunkerton with a baton while Peck distracts the referee. Peck hits the Cranial Crescendo for the pin at 14:01. Fantastic comedy mixed with great action? Sounds like a great combination to me, and that’s exactly what this match provided. It’s hard to go wrong when you stick two of the most entertaining guys in the company in the ring together. ***

Eddie Kingston vs. Chuck Taylor

Taylor kicks Kingston and hides behind the referee. Kingston slaps Taylor in the mouth. Taylor covers up as Kingston brings him to the mat. Kingston twists on his neck. Taylor goes under and tries for an STF, but Kingston rolls over on his back to block. Kingston applies a hammerlock. Taylor kicks out of a pin attempt. Kingston twists on Taylor’s leg. Taylor tickles Kingston to break. Pissed off, Kingston grabs a chair which the referee quickly disposes of. Taylor tricks Kingston by pointing out Black Jack Marciano in the crowd (he’s not actually there). Taylor kicks him and grapevines Kingston’s legs on the mat. Kingston escapes and suplexes Taylor for two. He snapmares Taylor into a chinlock. Taylor avoids an attack in the corner. He kicks out Kingston’s leg and stomps on his back. He chokes Kingston on the middle rope. Kingston grabs Taylor’s throat, but Taylor grabs his eyes to break. Kingston and Taylor exchange chops on the floor. Taylor goes back in the ring and dropkicks Kingston in the side of the head as he reenters. Kingston delivers a belly-to-belly suplex for two. Taylor ducks a clothesline and connects with an enzuigiri for two. Kingston evades a top rope attack. He hits an inverted tornado DDT for two. He drops Taylor with a Dragon suplex for two. A cradle suplex gets Kingston two. Kingston kicks Taylor into the crowd. Kingston goes for a suicide dive, but Taylor uses the guardrail to catch him with a boot. Taylor sends Kingston to the floor with a springboard dropkick and then dives out onto him. Taylor rolls up Kingston back in the ring for two. Kingston and Taylor trade strikes mid-ring. They slap each other in the face until they tire themselves out. Taylor blocks the Backfist. He hits two superkick and a boot. He hits Sole Food and a German suplex. Kingston defiantly gets up only to be dropped with a uranage. Taylor lands another German suplex and a quebrada for two. Kingston side steps a 450 splash, and Taylor lands on his feet. Kingston misses a yakuza kick. Taylor looks for the Awful Waffle. Kingston escapes and blasts Taylor with a lariat for two. Kingston tries a Saito suplex and again gets two. The Sliding D only gets him two as well. Kingston goes for his new submission, a Guilliotine Choke. Taylor taps out at 16:30. Really good match here, much better than their outing back in 2006. This was a lot more intense and mat based than you’d expect from both men, and the surprise added to the overall value of the match. It truly shows just how underrated these two guys can be at times. ***1/2

Vin Gerard says last night could have possibly been the worst night of his life and it doesn’t seem like things will be much better. He suggests Brodie Lee focuses his attention on bigger things like Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli. Steve “The Turtle” Weiner appears, asking Gerard if he needed him. Gerard says no and quickly hurries away. Weiner looks confused.

”12 Large: Summit” Tournament Match (Block B)
Brodie Lee (0 Points) vs. Vin Gerard (0 Points)

Gerard ducks a few clotheslines and unwisely mocks Lee because of it. Gerard tries the “Finger Poke of Doom”. Lee lays down for Gerard, but then blasts him with a slap as Gerard goes for a pin. Lee follows Gerard to the floor and throws him back in the ring. Lee gives him a big hip toss, an armdrag, a bodyslam, and then dropkicks him to the floor. Lee suicide dives onto him. Lee gets a two count back in the ring. Gerard delivers some forearms. He trips Lee and dropkicks him in the head for one. Gerard twists on Lee’s face. Gerard chokes Lee in the corner. He hits a running knee strike for two. Lee throws Gerard off the top rope for a two count. Gerard boots Lee and hits a missile dropkick. Lee chops Gerard down for two. Gerard goes for a 2k1 Bomb but gets shoved away. He splashes Lee and hits the 2k1 Bomb for two. Lee nails Gerard with a superkick and drops him with a suplex for two. He nails Gerard with a Big Boot. He hits the Truck Stop for two. Gerard snaps Lee’s neck on the top rope. Gerard catches Lee in an inside cradle for the pin at 7:15. A surprising finish to say the least. Lee and Gerard pulled out a level of intensity that we don’t see very often (especially from Gerard). The intensity helped push the importance of this contest. I think Gerard could have a career resurgence if he keeps up performance’s like this. ***

The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant & Green Ant) vs. The Amazing Red & The SAT (Joel Maximo & Wil Maximo)

A fan almost tricks The Colony by doing a bait and switch with a bag of sugar and a can of Raid. Soldier Ant and Joel engage in a Lucha sequence. Soldier Ant sends him to the floor with a saluting headbutt. Green Ant and Wil tag in, also engaging in some Lucha rolls and such. Green Ant too lands a headscissors. Green Ant rolls him into a half crab, which Red breaks. He and Fire Ant stand off. They go back and forth, ultimately reaching a stalemate. Red lands a rana and a dropkick for two. The SAT and Red take turns wearing down Fire Ant in their corner. Fire Ant evades an elbow from Joel and gives him an antzuigiri. The Colony deliver the Ants Marching dropkick for two. Fire Ant gives Joel a stunner. Green Ant and Soldier Ant each deliver diving headbutts for two. Joel catches Red with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Red and the SAT again isolate Fire Ant from his partners. Fire Ant ducks a clotheslines from Joel and delivers a tornado DDT. He then ducks a double clothesline from Wil and Red and dives onto Joel. Soldier Ant and Green Ant come in. They get attacked in the corner but then return the favor. Soldier Ant and Green Ant give Wil the Ants Marching neckbreaker. Red breaks the pin. The Colony set up for the Ant Hill, but The Maximos break it. Red and The SAT hit a German suplex on every member of the Colony. Wil gets a two count on Red. Red tornado kicks Fire Ant into another German suplex from Joel for two. Wil gets passed the can of Raid which he sprays on the mat. Fire Ant evades a slam but gets sent outside. Soldier Ant dropkicks Wil but gets slammed by Joel on the Raid. As he lay paralyzed, Red hits him with a frogsplash for two. Fire Ant gives Red the Yahtzee Kick. He follows with the Beach Break. Wil monkey flips Fire Ant into a Beach Break from Joel. Green Ant comes in. He gets hit nailed with an enzuigiri. The SAT go for the Spanish Fly. Green Ant fights them off and powerslams Joel off the top. The Colony give Wil the Ant Hill for the pin at 11:46. Red and The Maximos deliver yet again in a fun, fast-paced main event. It’s amazing how they’ve had somewhat of a career revival since King of Trios. They worked well with The Colony and I’d love to see them back. ***1/2
